As curator of an exhibition on the history for the scrap iron business in the US, I am looking for listings for this business in Texas telephone books.

I recall my father’s business in San Antonio, as late as 1960s listed in the white pages as Vexler, Harold junk.
Eventually, such listings changed to Scrap” and now, we are in the “recycling” business.

I don’t recall the yellow pages but would very much like to see those, too, as I trace this business in Texas, not just in San Antonio.

Also, are any of these materials online?

I great appreciate your assistance with my research be it through your holdings or those of other institutions.

    Yours truly,
    Jill Vexler, PhD
